We started this company with a dream and vision to give light and honor to our stories. The stories of our people. Our community. Our lives.

We wanted to see our stories illuminated and treated with care, because that’s how they deserve to be treated. This journey has taken us places that we never could have imagined.

For that, we are deeply grateful.

It is with that gratitude that we have created this beautiful work of art, The Men Inside.

This all original production honors the lives and experiences of our brothers. Black men.

But this show is more than that. It is created in dedication to our actual brothers, Donnie and Alec. Both men are no longer here with us in the physical sense, but they live on through their stories.

So as we use this platform to honor the lives of Black men, we also honor that this show is deeply personal.

May this work be in service to our community and our creator. May it elevate us. May it connect and grow us. May it continue to create space for our people and our stories.

May we always celebrate the beauty and the power of all that we are and all that we are to become.

Meet the Cast

  • Tyler Adams

    Tyler D. Adams is an educator, doctoral scholar, and lifelong artist with a long career in music, including performances in several musical theater productions and an opera. The Men Inside marks his return to the stage after an eight-year pause, making this production both a personal comeback and a creative homecoming. He is honored to reenter the theater space through a story grounded in truth, reflection, and healing.

  • Armani Frazier

    A proud Charlotte, NC native, Armani Frazier has loved the stage since childhood. What began as an early fascination with performance grew into a calling to bring layered, powerful characters to life. He thanks his family and community for nurturing his passion for the arts.

  • Roderick Shephard

    Roderick Shephard is an actor, writer and director based in North Carolina. He has written, directed & produced four short films and a web series. His most recent acting role was in the play, “The Big Hustle”. He is excited to be working with Epoch Tribe for the first time & would like to thank them for allowing him to be a part of their vision.

  • Jane Elvire

    Jane Elvire is an American actor of Haitian roots working in film, television, and theatre including TV One’s Fatal Attraction (2024), multiple independent films, her theatre debut as a lead in The Epoch Tribe’s I Am Queen: Nashville (2025) at the Polk Theater in Nashville, TN, and her musical debut in Wanderlust on Location’s Threads: A New Musical. Jane has trained with coaches & studios in Charlotte, Greenville, SC, and at The Met Film School & City Academy in London, UK.
